Clarity for iPhone and iPad.

Native iOS app for the read-only household finance workspace. Same balances, same ledger, same connections as the web app — with Face ID, App Clip launch, and an iPad split-view that pairs holdings with the transaction feed.

What it is

A native iOS app, not a wrapped web view.

Clarity for iOS is built on Expo and React Native, ships through the App Store and TestFlight, and uses the iOS Keychain for token storage and Face ID for re-auth. It reads from the same household ledger as the web workspace — every balance, lot, and transaction is one source of truth.

Features

What the iOS app does.

Every feature of the web workspace, plus the iOS-specific surfaces that only make sense on a phone.

  • Universal app for iPhone and iPad

One binary, native on both. The iPad build uses split views for portfolio + transactions side-by-side; iPhone is single-column with the same data.

  • App Clip for instant access

Tap a Clarity link from Messages, a QR code, or NFC and the App Clip opens directly to the relevant balance, transaction, or onboarding flow — no install required.

  • Face ID and Touch ID gating

Biometric authentication gates every cold launch and re-entry. Auth tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, not in app preferences.

  • Plaid Link, SnapTrade, and Coinbase OAuth on device

Connect 12,000+ banks, brokerages, and exchanges directly from the app. Same connection pool as the web workspace — link once, see it everywhere.

  • Read-only by design

Clarity cannot move your money on iOS for the same reason it can't on the web: we never request write scopes from any institution. Read-only is the product.

  • Offline-tolerant household ledger

Recent transactions, balances, and net worth render from local cache when offline. Sync resumes automatically; conflicts are reconciled server-side using the same ledger as the web app.

Clarity iOS — frequently asked questions

Quick answers about platform support, pricing, security, and what the app can and can't do.

Yes. Clarity ships a native iOS app for iPhone and iPad built on Expo and React Native, with App Clip support for instant access from Messages, QR codes, or NFC. The app uses the same household ledger as the web workspace, so balances, transactions, and net worth match across devices.

Yes. The iOS app is a universal binary — one download covers iPhone and iPad. The iPad layout adds split-view panels (for example, portfolio holdings beside a transaction feed) where the iPhone layout stacks the same data in a single column.

The app itself is free to download. Clarity's subscription tiers (Pro and Wealth) are billed the same way on iOS as on web — flat monthly or annual fees, no AUM, with a 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan. iOS subscriptions reuse the web account; there is no separate iOS-only price.

No. Clarity is read-only on every surface, including iOS. We never request write scopes from banks, brokerages, or exchanges. The iOS app reads balances, holdings, and transactions through the same institution connections used on the web — it cannot transfer funds or place trades.

Face ID (or Touch ID on older devices) gates every cold launch and re-entry into the app. Auth tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain; we do not write session secrets to app preferences or local storage. If biometrics are unavailable, the app falls back to the device passcode.

The same set as the web app — Plaid for banks and credit cards, SnapTrade for brokerages and retirement accounts, Coinbase OAuth for the exchange, and direct address tracking for on-chain wallets across multiple networks. Connections are shared across devices: link once on iOS, it shows up on web, and vice versa.

An Android build exists in the same monorepo and shares ~95% of code with iOS. Android is in internal testing; the iOS app is the supported mobile target today.
